The right age to start coding
When to begin and which tools keep children engaged.
Between seven and twelve, the ability to follow logic and sequence develops quickly. Starting block-based coding at that point is easy for children to pick up.
Visual tools like Scratch need no typing, so spelling or syntax mistakes never spoil the interest. The ideas arrive through making stories, games and animations.
One suggestion for parents: encourage the process rather than the result. Asking to see what your child built after each class is enough.
